Awards and competitions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with other institutions organizes several competitions in different artistic and cultural disciplines.

The Ministry also offers numerous Prizes and contributions for translations of Italian literary and audiovisual works. Italy offers many international, national, regional, provincial and local prizes which are open to both Italian citizens and/or foreigners.

XV International Italianistica Award. 43rd edition of the International Flaiano Prizes,2016

The prize began in 2002 as part of the International Flaiano Prizes in literature, theater, cinema and television, as a special section, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foregin Affairs and International Cooperation.

Promoted and organized by the Cultural Association Ennio Flaiano, the Flaiano Award honors Italianists' work internationally.

The Flaiano Award - Italianistica - is a collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the network of Italian Cultural Institutes which curate the diffusion of the application abroad and indicate the best pubblications, Italian cultural themes, in the local langauge or Italian language, in the previous year.

In the previous editions, the Flaiano Award for Italianistica has been awarded to researchers and professors of diverse nationalities. This edition of the award jury is composed of international experts and is led by Dacia Maraini. The three winners will be announced when they receive the awards in Pescara, Italy on October 21.
