On the occasion of the 18th Architecture Biennale of Venice (20 May – 26 November 2023).

Introduction: Nathalie Andrijasevic
The exhibition explores the material nature of the technological cloud and modern communication networks via the unique case of Israel and its environs. By surveying the rapid changes endured by these information infrastructures, the exhibition highlights the economic and geopolitical processes currently underway in Israel and the region, and the role of architecture in these. Focusing on the shift from sound to light, it extends throughout the pavilion as an immersive installation, while examining the transition from analogue to digital communication and from accessible buildings in urban centres to sealed structures in peripheral locations: the hardware of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The project is presented on behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Edith Kofsky is an architect, artist, and lecturer in the Architecture Department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem and at the Negev School of Architecture, Be’er Sheva. She was co-curator of the Israel Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014, and worked for prominent architecture firms in Israel and abroad. Today she runs an independent architecture and design studio.
Oren Eldar is an architect, scholar, and lecturer at the Negev School of Architecture, Be’er Sheva currently completing his MA thesis at Tel Aviv University, as an Azrieli Fellow. He led the research team for the Israel Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014, and published numerous articles in various local and international publications.
Hadas Maor is a contemporary art curator and a lecturer in the MFA program at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. She has curated numerous exhibitions for leading museums in Israel and abroad, including the Israel Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale 2015; and a ground-breaking augmented reality exhibition on view in twelve botanical gardens across the world. She regularly contributes essays to various publications and a member of various prize, scholarship, and grant committees.
Nathalie Andrijasevic is an assistant curator at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, specialized in Modern Art and 16th-19th Century European Art. BA + MA in Art History & Curating.

הביתן הישראלי בביאנלה ה-18 לאדריכלות בוונציה

התערוכה בוחנת את האופי החומרי של הענן הטכנולוגי ושל רשתות התקשורת המודרניות דרך המקרה הייחודי של ישראל וסביבותיה. באמצעות סקירת השינויים המהירים שעברו תשתיות מידע אלו, מדגישה התערוכה את התהליכים הכלכליים והגיאו-פוליטיים המתקיימים כיום באזור, ואת תפקיד האדריכלות בכינונם. התערוכה תיפרש בביתן כמיצב אימרסיבי המתמקד במעבר מסאונד לאור, תוך התייחסות לתמורות ההיסטוריות מתקשורת אנלוגית לתקשורת דיגיטלית, וממבנים נגישים במרכזים עירוניים למבנים אטומים בשוליים: אבני הדרך של המהפכה התעשייתית הרביעית.

עידית קופסקי היא אדריכלית, יוצרת ומרצה במחלקה לארכיטקטורה בבצלאל, ירושלים ובבית הספר לאדריכלות בנגב, באר שבע. הייתה אוצרת משנה של הביתן הישראלי בביאנלה לאדריכלות בוונציה 2014, עבדה במשרדי אדריכלות מובילים בארץ ובחו"ל. היום, מנהלת סטודיו עצמאי לאדריכלות ועיצוב.
אורן אלדר הוא אדריכל, חוקר ומרצה בבית הספר לארכיטקטורה בנגב, באר שבע. עמית עזריאלי, שוקד בימים אלה על סיום עבודת התזה שלו באוניברסיטת תל אביב. בעשור האחרון לימד היסטוריה ותיאוריה של האדריכלות במוסדות שונים בארץ, פרסם מאמרים רבים בכתבי עת מקומיים ובינלאומיים, וערך עשרות מחקרים, בהם של הביתן הישראלי בביאנלה לאדריכלות בוונציה 2014.
הדס מאור היא אוצרת לאמנות עכשווית ומרצה בתכנית ה- MFA בבצלאל. אצרה תערוכות רבות עבור מוזיאונים מובילים בארץ ובחו"ל, את הביתן הישראלי בביאנלה לאמנות בוונציה 2015, את הביאנלה ה-VII לרישום בירושלים ותערוכת מציאות רבודה פורצת דרך שהוצגה בו זמנית ב-12 גנים בוטניים ברחבי העולם. חברה בוועדות שונות להענקת פרסים, מלגות ותמיכות ומפרסמת באופן קבוע טקסטים בפלטפורמות שונות.
נטלי אנדריאשביץ' היא עוזרת לאוצרת לאמנות מודרנית ואמנות אירופאית במאות ה- 19-16 במוזיאון תל אביב לאמנות. בוגרת התואר השני בתולדות האמנות ותרבות חזותית במגמת אוצרות מאוניברסיטת בן־גוריון בנגב, באר שבע. מרצה ומקטלגת אוספי אמנות ועיצוב פרטיים.
