Call for applications AWARDS FOR TRANSLATIONS – YEAR 2018
The Direzione Generale Biblioteche e Istituti culturali del MiBACT, has put out a call for applications for the granting of awards for translations to be financed by the Fund for the enhancement of the Italian culture and language abroad.
The deadline for sumbitting the application is set for March 31, 2018.
For the year 2018 n. 10 (ten) prizes worth € 9,500.00 each, for translations to Italian and from Italian to foreign languages, of:
Literary prose and poetry;
Literary criticism, art criticism, non-fiction, scientific research;
Cinema and theatre screenplays.
Only works published by 13/02/2018 will be evaluated.
Priority in the evaluation will be given to translations of works concerning the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci, or featuring elements connected to the commemorations of the 500th anniversary of the artist's death.
By Decree of the Director of Direzione Generale Biblioteche e Istituti culturali del MiBACT, a special commission of experts for the evaluation of applications will be set up.
Individual translators, publishing houses, film and theatre production companies of Italian or foreign nationality can apply.
Application forms must be sent to the "Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism - Direzione Generale Biblioteche e Istituti culturali, Via Michele Mercati 4, 00197 Rome" by March 31, 2018.
All documentation, including paper and digital copies of the works, must be shipped in a single package, according to the procedures specified in the attached competition call.
