Call for grants and prizes for the distribution of Italian books through translation | 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the circulation of Italian literary, scientific, and cinematographic works abroad through a call for applications offering prizes and grants for the translation of literary and scientific works, and for the production, dubbing, or subtitling of short films, feature films, and television series in foreign languages.

Interested parties may submit their applications, complete with all documents listed in the call, to the Italian Cultural Institute of Tel Aviv by e-mail at: iictelaviv@esteri.it by March 31, 2026.

Applications must be submitted using exclusively the designated form, available in Italian, English, or Spanish.

Applications for GRANTS may be submitted for:

a) the promotion of Italian books abroad through the translation and publication of Italian literary and scientific works, including in digital format (e-book), whose publication is scheduled no earlier than July 1, 2026.

b) production, dubbing, or subtitling of short films, feature films, and television series intended for mass media, already completed to be released no earlier than July 1, 2026.

Please note that, for an application to be admissible, the requested grant must be less than the total cost of the project.

Applications for PRIZES may be submitted for:

a) Italian literary and scientific works, including in digital format (e-book), that have already been translated and published no earlier than January 1, 2025.

b) production, dubbing, or subtitling of short films, feature films, and television series intended for mass media, already completed no earlier than January 1, 2025.

The following may apply for the grants and prizes referred to in Art. 2 of the Call:
Publishers, translators, production/distribution/dubbing/subtitling companies, cultural institutions, agents, and literary agencies may apply for two types of incentive: grants and prizes for translation into a foreign language; grants and prizes for the production of short films, feature films, and television series.
