Two Italian films will be presented at the 20th edition of the Tel Aviv International LGBTQ+ Film Festival (October 23 – November 1, 2025): “A True Story” by Mariano Lamberti and “My boyfriend El Fascista” by Matthias Lintner.

Competing for Best Documentary
The true story of left-wing director Matthias and Cuban activist Sadiel, told against the backdrop of a stunning Alpine landscape. Sadiel, uncomfortable in communist Cuba, is led by frustration to embrace right-wing ideas, while Matthias remains faithful to his own convictions and their relationship risks being endangered. Matthias Lintner creates an intimate portrait of the protagonists’ journey, in which the true nature of change is understood.

Guilio and Alessio are two gay men in their twenties who meet in Rome during a scorching August. Despite being different, they are attracted to each other. Their troubled search for intimacy will bring to light old wounds and abandonments (taboo elements in the common representation of happy lives to be displayed on social media), forcing the two to expose themselves in their authenticity.
