People and elephants in the Levant half a million years ago

The talk is aimed to present a general overview on the lifestyle of hominins in the Levant half a million ago with a special focus on their complex relationship with Palaeoloxodon antiquus, an extinct species of large elephant that shared the same habitat with Homo for a long time span. The joint research project of TAU and Sapienza has opened new perspectives on this topic.
